Gaffer,

I agree that we here in North America (The United States in particular) should pay heed to books on the subject of hooliganism. Although the potential for hooliganism does exist for American soccer, American stadiums have introduced measures to curb alcoholic intake by ending alcohol sales after half-time (a catalyst for bad behavior). Our (American) soccer clubs don't have any type of "cult" following as their European counterparts, so the potential for blatant criminal misconduct is minimal. Hooliganism in The United States would more than likely be imported and not naturally occur. Our sports culture doesn't breed nor condone violent opposing fan interaction (athlete/opposing fan interaction is a completely different story).

The EPL Talk Podcast will resume this weekend. We took a little break to take care of launching the redesigned EPL Talk website.

Cheers,
