Hope your last statement is right, as I went out and picked him up for one of my Soccer Manager teams for just over 5 million pounds.

What a beauty that goal was, though.

As a Liverpool supporter, I was happy he tuckered out. He, Hines and Cole were tough to deal with in the 1st half. And, if he’s half as good as DeCanio was for the Hammers, watch out!

Hopefully he will not emulate Di Canio’s Il Duce-loving fascist views. Thought he was excellent before he tired. Hope The Hammers get their act together soon — Zola’s one of football’s good guys.

Thanks for reminding me, randomsausage, of Paolo’s penchant for that. Always like Zola as a player, and like his approach as a manager for WHU.

randomsausage, that was the point that I wanted to make, too; glad that it was pointed out. Diamanti was a handful for 60 minutes or so in Saturday’s match. Hines was a revelation, too — I think that’s the first time I’ve seen him play.

I’m disappointed by yesterday’s result, though. Bolton have been a bogey side for West Ham the last couple of years. Am I remembering correctly that the Hammers’ last win was the 3-1 game at Upton Park in the second-to-last week of the 2006-07 season? I watched that from an Irish pub in Venice. Tévez had an amazing opening half-hour to bury Bolton.

    On to face Citeh.

I don’t know If I said it already but …Excellent site, keep up the good work. I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks, :)

    A definite great read..Jim Bean

He. 4th rate league with an anateur level Italian. Out of Totti, Del Piero , Baggio , Mancini, Signori and Chiesa your epl got “rejects” Di Canio and Zola. EPL= 4th rate. All rugby players who kick and run and appreciate these “rejects”
