Being a Swansea City supporter, this is a topic that’s near and dear to my heart.

Regarding Steve Bruce, I think now’s the perfect opportunity to move to Wigan. He’s proven to followers of the Premier League that he has the management know-how to succeed in the league, and he’s done very well at Wigan this season. Plus, he’ll have more money to spend at Sunderland. And the north-east club has a large following to get behind the team, as opposed to Wigan Athletic.

But Wigan’s big concern is who they’ll pick to replace Bruce. If Martinez is going anywhere, it’s Celtic not Wigan, so Dave Whelan should move on and look elsewhere for Bruce’s replacement. The question is who? There really aren’t that many good candidates out there who would (1) take the job and (2) succeed in that position.

It’s crucial that Wigan picks the right manager, though. Otherwise they’ll be a relegation candidate again.

Curbs? Sanchez? Sbragia? Ince? Strachan? Adams? Kinnear? I don’t see any of those taking the job.

    Cheers,
    The Gaffer
