Matt, not a bad lineup at all, but I’m not sure Joleon Lescott can play right back. He’s played both center back and left back for Everton, but I’ve never seen him on the right side and since both Wes Brown and Glen Johnson do play on the right for their clubs and are in this squad, I don’t think we’ll see Lescott at that position.

I think the Starting XI will be:
GK: David James
LB: Ashley Cole
CB: Rio Ferdinand
CB: John Terry
RB: Joleon Lescott
DMF: Owen Hargreaves
CMF: Steven Gerrard
CMF: Frank Lampard
LMF: Joe Cole
RMF: David Beckham
ST: Wayne Rooney

Captain: John Terry.

Instead of two strikers I see them having Gerrard playing in support behind Rooney.
Find it hard to believe Defoe hasn’t proven his worth in his recent performances for Pompey. I don’t like the idea of Terry being captain or for that fact any defender being captain. But I feel as if Capello is going to test out Terry there.

although they can acquire almunia if they wanted to seeing as how he’s never been capped by spain. and there are others similar to him.

so thats gotta be a form of “transfer market”…right?

so timmyg, you expect him to create new players or something? You can only work with what your given and incase you forgot theres no transfer system for international football

The only striker who i think should make that squad is Defoe in place of Crouch. Based on current form of course.

with crouch, owen, and wolcott its still the same old racket.
