It looks like it has a landing strip on it. Could JT and Ashley Cole have requested it? I wish they used the black and blue one the away kit instead of black and orange.

My 2yr old nephew could’ve done something better… as a Chelsea fan I ask myself WTF are they thinking? Their only decent kit is the Home one.

Why do they try so hard?? A simple white and royal blue or a black, white and royal blue would work just fine. They just did the fluroscent yellow shirt 2 seasons ago(sans vag landing strip), that one wasn’t nearly as bad as this one. I don’t mind the black and orange one too bad but I’ll be sticking to the long sleeve home shirt I just picked up. Classic.

Right now I’m in denial. This can’t possibly be their third shirt.

If the yellow/green on the shirt was white, it would be epic.

Similar to the 2003-04 away shirt that Umbro did for us (my favorite Chelsea shirt ever).

Hate the fluorescent yellow, and the black trim and badge. My favorite Chelsea change kit of recent times was the 08-09. Bright banana yellow (but not fluorescent!) with BLUE trim and BLUE badge. We won the FA cup in those, and I thought they looked fantastic. Wish they kept them more that 1 year. Generally I hate the whole concept of a Third kit altogether, and this is perfect example.

c’mon, simple isn’t memorable. away kit is pretty badass, wait til you see them on the team. and if you don’t like the third – no worries, it will be sported twice all season.

Twice should be enough to leave both mental and emotional scars.

Whoever is in charge of Chelsea’s kit design needs to sit through “Blue is the Colour” played over and over again for a couple hours. I realize they need to come up with something different every season, but it shouldn’t be THAT hard to incorporate blue into it somehow. I thought last season’s away kit was actually pretty sharp, and the third kit was decent. This year’s designs are hideous.

I wish they would just use their training kit design instead. The white with blue/black trim is so much nicer.

Thank you! I was saying that to myself when I first saw those. The training kit design is the best non home jersey design in years.

I think it’s alot better than the black and orange away shirt. This could be a big bonus by blinding other teams with the fluorescent yellow. The only downfall is that all us supports who buy it will have to spend another season looking like a road worker on the M1.. (no disrespect to the workers)

Are fans revolting against all the new shirts every year? This is kind of offensive that the teams are doing this to fans. Pick an awesome design and stick to it for at least a few years.

Is there any way that we could see Chelsea in 3rd kit vs. Everton in Away kit? That would be an epic battle of the neon crimes against fashion.

Agreed, the general consensus is that this is hideous. I dunno why teams can’t just stick with fairly traditional away/third colors – yellow or white for chelsea, white or blue for Man Utd, White for Lpool etc. Day-glo kits are always a monstrosity.

In particular, it seems like Adidas seems to have really gone to the dogs recently. Chelsea’s home kit is nice, but nearly every other Adidas kit I’ve seen looks like it’s been designed by Stevie Wonder and stitched together by Dr Frankenstein.

This is way too close to Cech’s kit for it to be an outfield players kit if you ask me.

a crossover of the 03/04 away which was also the 04/05 third (based on a 60′s/70′s away kit with the stripes red and green, which was based on the kit of the great hungarian team of that era) and the 06/07 away kit, both of which i liked, but this will take some getting used to.
    at least its original though…
