England Ready for Sweden

The stage is set for England. All they need is a draw against Sweden to guarantee first place in Group B, which means they would play Ecuador on Sunday morning (11am ET)

If England loses this afternoon, they’ll play Germany on Saturday morning (11am ET). Based on Deutschland’s performance this morning against Ecuador, the Germans look unstoppable. Even though Ecuador lost 3-0, they still look very dangerous (especially their midfield and dribbling skills).

My prediction: England 0 – 0 Sweden.

1-0 to the In-ger-lund at half-time through an amazing goal by Joe Cole. This is the best first half performance by England in eons. They totally dominated the game, especially midfield.

A bore draw or score draw was the only possible result today, how much money did you put on, gaffer?

Ahh, I wish I had put some money on the match, but alas I didn’t :)

Not a bad performance, I thought. It would be easy to criticise their defending from set pieces, but they won’t have to defend so many excellently taken free-kicks and corners against Ecuador.
