should be a great one. A mini “days of wine and roses” for all of english football (including the women’s team) at the moment, no?

Well, this sounds all great just hours before the event. But with a few days behind, what remains is the highest defeat of any team in a U21 final ever: 4 – nil. The result showed everything that English international teams are lacking: creativity on the field, good goalkeepers and discipline.
Particularly the last point had cost England a lot on critical stages. If you loose 3 men on behalf of yellow and red cards, if you give a away a three goal lead in the semifinal and if the coach can’t stop himself from foul-mouthing the officials in the final, there is a lot of room for improvement.
