As a Bulgarian who has followed the Bulgarian national team for the past 20 plus years, here’s the view from the Bulgarian side:

The Bulgarian coach, Stoilov, is an idiot, plain and simple. There’s a lot of corruption and nepotism in the national team. Stoilov will start as a fullback tomorrow Zhivko Milanov who is absolutely horrendous. Why? Because Milanov is married to the daughter of Borislav Mihailov, the President of the Bulgarian Football Federation. Walcott, if he starts, will have a field day on the wing w/ Milanov. Talk about a mismatch.

In goal, you will see Nikolai Mihailov. You guessed it, he is the son of the above-mentioned president of the Bulgarian Football Federation.

    This is a disgrace!

Bulgaria’s defense is a liability and I fear the worst…

For years, there has been an anti-Berbatov campaign in Bulgaria(don’t ask me why). That’s why Bulgaria’s most talented player since Balakov quit the team a few months ago. Too bad… it would have been nice for Berba to score on England tomorrow and do the “Shh-shh” to the haters.

With so many injuries and after the World Cup disaster, this is the perfect time to play England…too bad Bulgaria doesn’t have the team to challenge and take something out of Wembley.

Don’t get me wrong, I am taking tomorrow afternoon off, and I will be watching and cheering, but a 2:0 England result is to be expected.

Bojinov may start on the bench at the expense of Domovchiiski who has had a good start and a few goals early in the season in the 2nd Bundesliga w/ Herta Berlin.

Bulgaria’s big hopes remain with the two Petrovs, Stanley and Martin. They are both pushing 30, but those 2 have always delivered for the national team.

I guess we shall see tomorrow.

PS: People in England are complaining that Capello plays the 4-4-2 which is outdates, etc….well, Bulgaria will play the 4-4-1-1 tomorrow, with Ivelin Popov behind the lone striker.
