The Columbus Crew v Everton Toffees kickabout was a classic, aye.

Is the game v Real Salt Lake being played on a Utah pitch with college gridiron markings to make the Blue Boys dizzy & high bouncing ball on articial turf to make a monkey of Yobo & co?

Really great prep for the upcoming season..

TT

The unconfirmed friendly for Everton is against Monterrey (Mexican team) on the 29th of July in Santa Barbara, California. As of yet still unconfirmed, but inside source, told me a couple of weeks ago about both games, of which Real Salt Lake has now been confirmed. California here we come!!!

Aston Villa versus the Crew maybe a good occasion for a road trip and some EPL talk/ Major League Soccer talk interviews! Last year the Crew played Everton and it was a match actually played at a pretty high level for a friendly. I think Moyes was feeling some pressure after a poor 2005/06 season and the Crew were making a playoff push so both teams used the friendly to really focus on their squads rather than just for show as many of these matches turn out to be. The match ended in a 1-1 draw because James Beattie was so awful for Everton and I think that may have convinced Moyes to use just one striker (Andy Johnson) when they returned to England.
