Arsenal are a quite formidable side if they are all healthy.

There’s loads of talk of Arsenal needing to add big name players. They already did that with Arshavin.

Arsenal need to go out and sign a proper DM. Even if Arsene feels he has his future holding mid on the team now, he needs to get a good stop gap. I still don’t understand why he let Diarra and Gilberto walk for peanuts. But either way, if he brings in someone, say Senna to fill the void for 2 seasons or so, Arsenal could realistically challenge for the title. Remember, a similar squad was top of the league until a lack of depth and experience led to their unravelling 2 seasons ago.

“There is a lot of anger and frustration amongst Arsenal fans;” No, it’s more that Arsenal supporters (and Cesc) are delusional. While they were once a good club, the simple fact is that they are nothing special anymore. You don’t see fans of Wigan getting angry and frustrated about not winning titles, because they realise that their team is mid-table at best. Arsenal is the same and the sooner Gooners accept that, the sooner the healing process begins. It might take some tough medicine (ie when Citeh gets the 4th CL spot next year) but hopefully they will accept their demotion to also-ran status with grace and humility.

Chris, you should know rule #1 of journalism: never believe any quote from the Spanish press. They took so many of Cesc's quotes out of context it's ridiculous. (The one about him leaving Arsenal and going to Spain was in response to the question, "Would your family mind if you ever left Arsenal and moved to Spain?" His answer, of course, was no they wouldn't mind. The Spanish press went with, "Cesc says Arsenal is impotent, wouldn't mind moving to Spain".) Of course when Cesc, ONCE AGAIN (as he does every year), comes out to say that all of his quotes were out of context and that he's committed to Arsenal and has no intention of leaving, what does the Spanish press run? NOTHING. They're a bunch of no-brain wankers who only want to rouse up trouble. By you re-hashing these no-stories, you're just perpetuating the myths, as well as giving your blog a bad name. Follow up with the facts for once, and stop using the Spanish press as a source!

Are you referencing the quotations themselves, complete with the questions they were in response to, or are you just following tabloid nonsense on it? Fabregas already repudiated your whole story himself!

Fabregas said that he is frustrated with not winning. I can only imagine how badly this will affect his relationship with the players on the club who like losing! What exactly did he say that is going to ruin his relationship with other players on the team? You are right about one thing – it mirrors the frustration of Arsenal fans. I for one, am glad that the players on my team are not content with losing.

There was nothing in the interview which supports this interpretation of Fabregas’ intentions. He has already repudiated the tabloid reporting which turned it into a “Cesc will leave story.” There really isn’t anything left for this story to stand on – particularly since there is not even any direct discussion of the quotations themselves. Perhaps it should be retracted, or supplemented with the actual quotations that are supposed to warrant this kind of speculation?

I think fabregas should look at his own performances last season and his weaknesses e.g not tough enough and poor body strength. We have arshavin now anyway so fabregas can leave if he wants. He does not care about the club and must be abit dumb because he cannot see he is playing with players who are developing all the time and will be stars soon.
