England fan,

Just a guess but I think that the Premiership Clubs rather get paid an appearence fee for a friendly away then force their home fans to buy another ticket. Some of the mid to lower end teams in the Premiership don't have full stadiums when the games mean something. I think its a way for clubs to build their fanbase in other parts of the world as well as through Europe. I am sure that some Everton and West Ham fans will come to America on a jolly to see their team and take a vacation at the same time.

From a quick glance at the fixtures, most are away from home. Why the appeal of playing most of the friendlies away from home?
