Hull i think looked a stronger side than we have seen previous with the signing of Jimmy Bullard, who seemed to have waited forever to get his debut. The determination from the outset with Bullard on the pitch was obvious for all to see. Within minutes he had few shots, the first even though not on target but meant business. With Stoke on 10 men Hull always had that upper arm and Phil Brown must of got a better night sleep with the result but still only hanging on to his job if we are honest. The 2nd half Stoke come out fighting and i actually thought they were going go 2-0 up. Just unfortunate Shawcross hit the cross bar from Whelan's free kci.

He had a few nice touches in the game, but the sad reality is that Hull City and the Premier League have little patience for him to get back in form. Nineteen for a footballer in Europe is not that young. In this game, I was anxiously waiting for him to get a goal, but it didn't happen. Now that Hesselink has scored, you have to wonder if Jozy will lose his place to the Dutch player.

Cheers,

I don't share your sentiment about Jozy's performance. He was lively, and got himself several opportunities that he could have finished. As long as people with sensible heads remember that he's 19, and has not been given regular first-team football to put him on form, he will be fine. His pace and strength helped keep Stoke on their heels(to the extent that we did) while he was in.

Living in Austin and following our local club, the Aztex, I decided to give Stoke City a look this year as a team to root for. After all they are a close affiliate of ours.

About Tuncay: Why get him if you are not going to use him? Does he fit into the style of play that Stoke City plays?

And to top it off, Jozy starts and I can't really root for him today!!!

It seems nothing comes easily for the Tigers this season, but perhaps this win is tiny cosmic payback for the Chelsea loss in the first game. Fans will note that Hull is still the only Premier League team to score at Stamford Bridge this season, so I suppose using creative logic we're actually better than Manchester United! (smile, at least for today)
