Unfortunate. Phil Brown was a good manager despite Hull being a losing team. Hopefully he’s picked up again somewhere soon.

This is another idiotic sacking in the Premier League. Thankfully there have been very few sackings thus far. And I don’t think I’ve agreed with any of them. Phil Brown, whether you love him or not, was getting the most out of his Hull City team. Can any manager, even a Jose Mourinho, step in to Brown’s boots and do a better job than Brown in the remaining weeks of the stadium? I don’t think so. Long term, yes. Short term, no. And short-term is where Hull City needs the most help to stay up.

This sacking stinks of desperation on behalf of Hull City in my opinion.

    Cheers,
    The Gaffer

Hardly idiotic apart from the timing. A Hull fan on Talksport said he’d won 6 of the last 66 matches. Pearson should’ve got rid as soon as he got back. I’m more shocked to find a piece not about the top four.

I have to say Brown had gotten so much out of the boys at Hull, as a 10 man side they fought off Arsenal for 48 min, neither Liverpool nor Man City couldn’t do that today. When your team is that brave you need to know where it is coming from, hopefully it was all Horton but I have a feeling Brown had something to do with it. Good Luck Phil – Good Luck Hull

Frank Rijkaard is still available, I think.

The timing seems strange but Phil Brown had other problems apart from the team’s performance on the pitch .
A lack of discipline from the players , drinking before games , gambling etc etc

Also Phil Brown was too strongly linked to the Duffen regime and some very questionable actions taken during that time regarding payments to agents etc
