I like it. It's a bold move, and as for comment #1 from hmmmmm, I don't see a drawback to hiring a Brazilian coach with 2 Copa Libertadores with 2 different clubs, in addition to a World Cup.

This will surely be entertaining. I see an immediate falling out with ambramovich within the first half of the season. Chelski is such a joke! Can't believe he took the job.

I have to agree with Michael here, and I'll try not to do that again. Given the attacking nature of the players available to him at Portugal, he does get them to play a relatively defensive style. Which may well give the team more balance than doing otherwise.

I give Big Phil a year. He doesn't like the press and will be seeing plenty of them, and unless he is spectacularly successful, his style will not meet Abramovich's vision of how Chelsea should be playing (and winning). Also, he might not get the independence from the owner that he demands.

I'll stick my neck out here and say two years max!

Club football is not Scolari's strong suit. Brazil maybe a big show but Chelsea under Roman is a insane merry- go-round ride. Once your on you do not get off. Scolari is used to time away from his players, with Chelsea you have to hold there hands on a daily basis. Maybe he will bring in some of his own players, do I hear Man U. worrying right now.

Roman must have written a whopper of a check!

Yes, look at his Portugal side! He plays a disciplined, strict system that discourages outstanding individual creativity, it doesn't really play to the talents of brilliant attacking players like Ronaldo, Deco, Simao, Quaresma, Nani, etc. They can play well for Portugal, but they're not featured like they are at their clubs.
