East coast? Eff that noise. Here’s hoping SOMEONE comes to Chicago this summer.

Kevin, Chicago is rumored to be one of the cities where Manchester United is going to play a friendly. We’re hoping to get the confirmation from United in the coming weeks.

      Kevin:

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again beware of what Man U. will do during the tour. The last time they where here it was a farce, only a few big name players where along for the tour. I would expect that players who played in the World Cup won’t be along for the trip. They did not sell out Soldier Field last time so you may want to wait for a while before going out and buying tickets.

Just my guess but Man City may take things more seriously and put out a better effort. Kevin, did you see the Sisters City tournament the Fire are hosting next month. That seems to be a pretty good value, good European squads from Poland, France, and Serbia and double header action on two dates. I spoke to the Fire the other day and the tickets are very reasonable.

In any event the European team tours of the US/Canada has become an exciting part of the American soccer season. In certain respects it’s a season within a season.

I’m in Columbus, so I hope the Crew is able to schedule a friendly against one of the teams coming over this summer. I don’t expect Man Utd or Arsenal to come to Columbus, but Everton, Fulham, Villa, and West Ham have come to town in the past few years.

Go to your local MLS game.

You are forgiven if you don’t have a team around you.

I see PDX next year as the Timbers join MLS, probably with a link with Man City due to the connections with Cooke and Nike

Wish the Blues would come back again but then again I’m probably going to the Bridge next spring/late summer.

The article that you linked says nothing about Arsenal playing any friendlies in the US. I understand that Stan Kroenke wants them to play in the US, but there is no major indication that this will happen although you state that they are “seriously considering” the possibility…

Thanks for pointing that out Keith. I went crazy when I saw that Arsenal was “seriously considering” coming to the US. I thought it was too good to be true that Arsene would break his routine of training in Switzerland, friendlies in Western Europe, and the start of EPL games, and I guess I was right

Keith and Vermaelen, here’s the link to the article about Ivan Gazidis trying to convince Wenger why he should take Arsenal on a tour of the States this summer:

Spurs to Houston. We have an enormous number of Spurs supporters here. Been to many games at the Lane, and I am ready to see them play here.
