Birmingham City today unveiled their new away shirt for the 08/09 season, which features a penguin-style design more reminiscent of Ajax than anything that the Brummies have worn in the past.
Designed by Umbro, the design of the shirt is similar to the current home kit except that the main color is red instead of blue. The Birmingham City website also features a video of the new shirt, which will be available for sale beginning May 11, 2008.
Rather than concerning themselves with the new away shirt, most Birmingham City fans will have Premier League survival on their minds. Birmingham is at home against Blackburn on Sunday in a must-win match. Depending on the results of the other concurrent matches, even a win may not be enough to lift Birmingham out of relegation trouble. It promises to be another scintillating end to the season for neutral football fans.
Perfect for a Coca-Cola Championship side.
Can’t wait till next season, Premiership football in that kit, what more could you ask for.
Umm… Bayern Munich? AJAX?
Birmingham should go down. They just aren’t good enough.
