Nike has beaten Manchester United to the punch and unveiled the new Man United third shirt for the 2008/2009 season. The club badge is on the left of the shirt and there is writing around it saying, “May 29th 1968″ and “40th Anniversary” which commemorates the 1968 european cup win over Benfica. Decent looking, yet plain shirt. Looks like another money maker for the club. Two new kits in one season once again.

I kinda like it, to be honest. Plain and simple, yes, but so was that 1968 shirt. That one looked great in long sleeve. Wonder if this will be a Champions League exclusive, or will it be worn in domestic matches? Also, will it have that racing stripe down the back?

Michael… What you see is what you get. No stripe down the back on this kit, just the MUFC on the back collar.
By the way, it is my understanding from someone who spoke with a guy at Subside Sports that UEFA is going to standardize the kit lettering starting this season. It’s supposed to be the lettering Chelsea wore on its kits in the CL final.
This applies to both the CL and the UEFA Cup.

I like it but im almost sick of seeing so much blue for the reds. Why wear the same color of our rival!

do you get why the shirt is blue? do you know there is a UNITED before 1999? have you got a clue why the shirt is important? george best? no…what you think is blue means chelsea…little do you know we won the cup before those rent boys entered the whole thing.

Well all i can say is UNITED Rocks no matter what they wear!! I like the Blue its simple but has something classy about it. I am happy the home kit is the same as its awesome and the white strip its ok nothing GRAND about it…HAve you guys seen the BARCA away kit..COOL yellow one..nice design..GLORY UNITED

Now on an important note any ideas of C.Ronaldo’s situation..He’s a great skillful player but whats the issue about this Real thing man?? He just won the Lge & Champions Lge..with this clube all the more reason to stay and beome a LEGEND but instead he is running away..for what MORE $$$!! The kid must be dumb and blind. I love him as a player but whats going on in his head? Hope he wakes from this Delusion his suffering from..NOT AT ALL A RED DEVILs CHARACTER (LOYALTY)

what a fantastic shirt , it should be the first choice . tremendous colour and club logo also .
