Photographs of Aston Villa’s new home shirt for the 2008/2009 season have been leaked courtesy of Football Shirt Culture.

new aston villa home shirt 08 09 Photos Of New Aston Villa Home Shirt LeakedThe new shirt from Nike features the name of Acorns Children’s Hospice as its chief sponsor. The home shirt is designed in the traditional claret and blue of Aston Villa and features the recently updated club crest on the left chest.

After all of the hype and anticipation of Aston Villa redesigning their Nike kit, the new one is disappointing. Other than the neck line changing to a v-neck and some other very slight changes, the shirt hasn’t changed much since last year’s design.

i reckon it will look nicer in the flesh. i remember last year i saw the photos of the shirt and i didnt like it so much, but once it arrived and i wore it, i started to love it

Its a fake. Trust me.

The Villa badge is *perfectly* square on both shots.

Also ‘Acorns’ doesnt really flow with the contours of the shirt underneath.

its definately fake as all of the logo’s and things on the front of the shirt don’t fit on correctly and don’t fit in with the creases on the shirt.

Also what is the black thing in the bottom right corner of the shirt.

It is clearly fake. If you look very carefuly you can see an outline around the badge, sponsor and the nike logo where they have been stuck on.

Sorry to dissapoint you guys but I really do believe this is the new shirt. I’m experianced on photoshop and can assure you that is no digital manipulation. I don’t care how good someone is at Photoshop, an equally adept person can notice fake touch ups, and there are none here.

Also, those who say the “O” in ACORN is wrong, it is the new logo AVFC adopted on their own website.

Authenticity apart, I think its really great of Villa to sport a local charity on their chests.

Its like going to Barcelona way. They’ll win over a lot of non-footballing purists this way !
