Nah, if they took the 10 point deduction they have no hope of staying up.
Plus administrators come in and flog all your players at values they see fit.

Then again I dont see any way Pompey can stay up regardless so maybe you’re right.

Administraion would cause problems for so many other clubs that it might cause a few other clubs to go into administration as well. The league is bending over backwards to avoid this embarassment, preferring to drag this out. While the club and it’s incompetent and borderline criminal behavior is absolutely awful to have to watch, the league bears a little responsibility for the sham of a fit and proper persons test.

The league and the FA must adopt the business standards of the Bundesliga or Pompey will not be the last club to face such difficulties. The financial models of Manchester United and Liverpool, with their large debts, will not allow that to happen without a lot of pain.

I agree – Pompey need to be made an example of – they’re bottom at christmas – they’re not going to get out of it. just send them down now and allow them to re-organize. They’re going to be a 3-point ATM the rest of the season anyways

I agree that they should go into administration and take the 10 point deduction now. It at least gives them a chance of coming back up next year instead of starting the season at -10 in the Championship.

If Pompey going into administration caused other clubs to go into administration, would you still agree? Going into administration means that most if not all of the debts are canceled. Pompey owes a lot of money to other clubs, which was not completely paid off by diverting the tv money. What if this causes a domino effect?

Amen, I couldn’t agree more that drastic action needs to be taken. In terms of the debts owed, would those be paid by the English FA? I’m not worried about Chelsea and Tottenham, I think they’ll be able to operate without their transfer fees, but it is worrying how much money is still owed to Watford, Rennes, and Lens.

Honestly though, Portsmouth needs to go. They are a disgrace right now and are going to get relegated anyway.
