Surprised that 4-goal man Rooney didn’t get a mention.

I should be more specific. He’s mentioned in the article but I don’t really understand why he was not in the running for this ‘award’. What was the logic for not including last weekend’s fixtures?

LS: Considering how obvious Rooney’s selection it is, and how he already had a post dedicated to that great performance, why be redundant? I like Jesse’s decision here.

And I like the Luka pick. He was doing some amazing things with the ball on Tuesday.

Awesome first article. Good to see him and his side in good form, he was definitely the catalyst.

I thought of guessed I was hoping for too much in thinking it might be Kevin Doyle.

    LS,
Thanks for the comment. Rooney truly was fantastic and has been all season. The reason I didn’t include last weekend’s fixture is I didn’t really decide to go forward with this column until after that match. I wanted a clean start with the fixtures on Tuesday and Wednesday as I’m sure you can imagine how attentive one has to be to get through as many matches as possible and still keep a fresh eye on individual performances.

I covered his performance earlier in the week for EPL Talk, again, before I decided to do this. I didn’t want to post what would have essentially been a duplication of the earlier article. Trust me, I’m gutted for not being able to award Rooney this first go-round as I’m a United supporter and Rooney is my favorite athlete on the planet. Stick around, he’ll get one soon I’m sure.
    Thanks,
    Jesse

Thanks Jesse, I appreciate the insight into your choice. To be clear, I liked the article and I hope you continue the feature through the end of the season.

See, I knew you were biased! ;-)
