    Laughable stuff.

As I saw the picture load it said WHU 1-3 Wolves. I was wondering, hmmm, who can he give it to? Jones maybe? Possibly Jarvis. Doyle has a great shout.

But Scott Parker? Scott Parker of the West Ham team that got over-ran (especially in midfield).

Just more proof of the unbelievable London/Top 4 bias this, and many sites feature.

I’m almost embarrassed for you it is such a bad article.

      Tom,

Good stuff, thanks for the feedback,..

Way back when I started this (very difficult because of the amount of time needed) weekly, or twice weekly re-occurring column, I attempted to outline some of the points I would be discussing. I let readers know that they wouldn’t always be seeing the player who scored the most goals, or a player from one of the Big 4 teams each week. What would be the fun in that? All the other big sites/blogs already do that.

I picked Parker for a few reasons:

#1. He’s been one of the bright spots on a pretty bad team for a number of weeks now.

#2. Keep in mind there were only 5 midweek games, which gives me less performances to look at, analyze and choose from. Also, I’m no robot, there’s no way I can watch every single match, every single week.

#3. If I’m not mistaken, Parker’s inclusion to this post was the first time I’ve picked someone who has been on the losing end of a match. Why not mix it up a bit?

#4. West Ham may have been overrun in midfield, but the accolades weren’t given to the WH midfield, they were awarded to Parker for his tireless work and positive contributions.

Wolves were way better than WH on Tuesday night. But if you place Parker in another Premier League midfield, I guarantee you he’ll add to that squad in some way.

The list really could go on, but I’ve no further need to explain myself.

In regards to your comment about there being a Top 4/London bias, Kevin Doyle was profiled on this very column during the review of Gameweek 27 because of his contributions for Wolves, where let me again say, he’s been superb all year.

Also, I’ve spoken highly about Aston Villa, Portsmouth and Hull City players on this column as well. None of those 3 clubs are located in London or close to the top 4. Have you been reading the last few months of this post?

No need to be embarrassed for me either.

Thanks for responding and giving some reasoning! It was less a comment on you, more so on the vast majority of reports I have read of Tuesdays game seem to highlight WH’s weaknesses as opposed to the fact Wolves played well. Gets quite frustrating after a while!
