Whats interesting is the way Emile Heskey has applied pressure on manager O’Neill to play more games. See how that pans out and whether he can feature in a big game like Chelsea.

Who plays the most for England?

Few realize it, but City’s record against Wigan since they joined the Prem is actually worse than City’s record versus United in the same period. It’s a local derby that Wigan gets up for, and City doesn’t particularly care about, thus the imbalance. Some of City’s worst performances under Stuart Pearce were against Wigan.

With Torres and Gerrard out, the match to watch this weekend could be at 10am ET on Fox Soccer Channel when Sunderland plays at home against Liverpool. It’s a big test for Sunderland to see if their form this season has been a flash in the pan, or if they really are the real deal.

    Cheers,

        Well, that was most excellent.

        Sunderland 1-0 Liverpool.

        Goal: Bent
Assist: Beach ball, some as yet unknown idiot ‘Pool supporter.

        MOTM results:

        1. Bent.
        2. Gordon.
        3. Idiot ‘Pool supporter.
        4. Beach ball.
5-16. Rest of Sunderland squad (in whatever order you please).
        17-25. Sunderland ground crew.
        26-35. Sunderland medical staff.
        36. Glen Johnson.
        37. Reina.
38-49037. Stadium of Light spectators (including those disguised as empty seats).
49038-49049. Rest of Liverpool squad (in whatever order you please).
        174272. Benitez.

/runs to CVS for another bottle of Xanax; begins writing stalkerish letters to the Special One (not Mourinho, the puppet, who also could manage this club better than Benitez.)

Harry will get a lot of stick, but so will Crouch, Defoe, and Krancjar in their Fratton Park return. However, Pompey is in good spirits and ready for the struggle to avoid relegation. I think we could win this one, which will be especially sweet coming against Saggyface.

By the way, this game is listed as live on FoxSports Espanol on my channel guide. I won’t understand a word they’re saying, but it’s supposedly live. Is this the first of live matches being shown on other Fox Sports Net stations? Or has this happened already?

I’m disappointed that the Stoke City vs. West Ham match isn’t being televised. I think it’s going to be a classic match — free flowing open football vs. Stoke’s preference for the long ball and Rory Delap’s missile-like throw-ins.

Hope the Hammers pull this one out — the team desperately needs a win!

I think Wigan is capable to give the problem to Manchester City. They are getting confident from the win against Chelsea. They gave a frustrating first half to Manchester United but end up a lose. Besides, they are having a very good record against Manchester City!
