Premier League Saturday, Gameweek 7: Open Thread

There are plenty of classic traditional matches today in the Premier League. Aston Villa versus Tottenham, West Brom against Bolton, West Ham v Fulham, Stoke against Blackburn, Man United versus Sunderland and others. And I expect many of them to be very entertaining.

As the action unfolds today, feel free to post your questions, observations and venting in the comments section below.

And for today’s complete schedule, visit the Premier League TV Schedule page for US viewers.

Sad to see so many empty seats at the DW Stadium in Wigan today.

    Cheers,

I’ve defended him in the past on this site, but there was no defending that challenge from Karl Henry today. I still maintain he isn’t ‘that’ type of player, but he is struggling to get the ‘dirty’ monkey off his back.

Agree, Wigan fans are a disgrace, waste of a Premier League spot with plenty of proper clubs in the Championship.

Finally, it was a great free kick, but what on earth was the Wigan FK given for? Absolutely no foul whatsoever.

What a lackluster effort by Manchester United. Where was the attack during the first half? That had to be the worst effort put forth this season. They rarely attacked. Credit the defense. I will say this, taking nothing away from Van Der Saar, the United defense was extremely lucky on at least a couple of occasions.

I think Owen played his way back to the substitute bench. Vidic certaintly played to form. I did like the pairing of Berbatov & Chicharito. It is clear to me that Sir Alex Ferguson is going to try different pairings until he finds something that works. Nani didnt play to form either today. All in all, I thought the United would be able to build on the Champions League win from Wednesday. Instead it looks like more of the same old problems.
