Read Our Blueprints for World Cup 2010 Coverage

Ladies and gentlemen, this is it. Tomorrow is the official draw for the 2010 World Cup and I can tell you now that I’m incredibly excited, as I’m sure you are, at the prospect of finding out which countries will be in what groups. I can’t wait!

This is a perfect opportunity for me to share EPL Talk’s “blueprints” about the World Cup coverage you can expect over the next 24 hours and the next 7 months as we build up to what is the biggest soccer tournament in the world.

This evening Kartik Krishnaiyer will be flying to Bristol, Connecticut. And tomorrow he’ll be at the ESPN headquarters all day long to watch the World Cup draw (which will be shown live on US television on ESPN2 from Noon to 3pm ET). While Kartik is at ESPN, he’ll be conducting interviews with many of the ESPN commentators and staff as well as reporting back to us on what we can expect from ESPN’s coverage of the tournament. And many of the interviews will appear on the EPL Talk Podcast and MLS Talk Podcast, available free to you and featuring interviews with legends of the game.

This is just a glimpse of some of the coverage you can expect from the EPL Talk Network of sites. Plus we have plenty of surprises to share in the coming weeks including the acquisition of a massive name from the football business as a new writer to EPL Talk.

As many of you know, there are a total of nine soccer websites in the EPL Talk Network, so here’s how we’ll be breaking down the coverage of the World Cup news and analysis over the next seven months. First, if you haven’t done so already, be sure to bookmark World Cup Buzz, our World Cup sister site. Today, for example, there are three new World Cup articles including “What the World Cup Draw Means To Me,” a humorous peek at Sepp Blatter’s instructions for the World Cup Draw and an invitation for you to attend the live webcast of the unveiling of the World Cup match ball. We’ll be updating that site on a regular basis between now and next June.

Our World Cup coverage won’t be just on WorldCupBuzz.com either. As a perfect example, Kartik’s coverage from ESPN headquarters will be split on different sites. For interviews and coverage relating to the US men’s national team, he’ll write about that on MajorLeagueSoccerTalk.com. For coverage relating to England, that’ll be posted here on EPL Talk. And so on and so forth. Here’s how the World Cup coverage will be broken down, so be sure to bookmark the sites that are of interest to you:
