podcast Soccer Podcasts: The Complete List

It’s incredible to see the number of soccer podcasts continually grow. A few years ago it was only a handful. Now, there are more than 55, many of them excellent in quality, and there’ll be several more added in time for this summer’s World Cup. The choices seem almost endless, so I thought I’d compile a comprehensive list of the soccer podcasts available. If I’m missing any, please post them in the comments section below.

Whether you enjoy football discussions, interviews, coaching tips, tactical analysis, laughs or rants, there are plenty of soccer podcasts for everyone.

Here’s the complete list of soccer podcasts (in alphabetical order). Each links directly to the iTunes page for you to subscribe. Drumroll please…

Again, please let me know if there are soccer podcasts I’ve missed that are still being published.

Strange that WFD is the only “pay” podcast. I wonder if they can be doing much business with that many “free” competitors?

They’re staying in business and the level of guests is amazing. It is only about 4.00 a month, which is nothing!

the interviews are very good. plenty of technical issues so not 100% if it’s worth paying for but i do

I tolerate Steven & Kenny to hear all of the fantastic guests they have on the show. The price is fantastic considering that it is a daily podcast.

Steven gets a lot of (well-deserved) stick for being who he is, but he is very accessible. He reads emails, although I wish he would slow down and enunciate a little better. They do tend to talk like they don’t know which topic they are discussing and interrupt each other constantly.

Ivan, sorry. The list to put together just the iTunes link took several hours, but feel free to google any podcasts above that you’re interested in so you can hunt down the RSS feed.

Match Fit USA became The American Soccer Show recently. The Match Fit USA podcast only exists in archived previous broadcasts.

Jason, good catch, thanks. I’ve now removed Match Fit USA from the list above.

You missed one of the top UK sports podcasts “It’s Up For Grabs Now”. A very entertaining Arsenal related podcast hosted by Alan Davies.

Yaro5, thanks for letting me know about that one. It’s been added to the list.

The Game & the Football Ramble both are the same link. Are they the same show?

Thanks for the great list! And WFD is well worth the money!

My two favourite podcasts are Football Weekly and The Football Ramble. Barry Glendenning is an absolute riot on FW. He is a quality pundit with a very Irish twist to his views. The boys at the Ramble are getting better every week.

World Football Daily is definitely the best. Well worth the $40 a year. So many great guests and a lot of air time. At least 2 hours a day.

The Chelsea Football Fancast is quality for any Chelsea fan. The show consists of about 5 to 7 Chelsea fans depending who makes it to there post match pub in West London. They discuss the match and up coming match(s), answer listener questions, read listener emails, they have a bit called “We Are Showing the World the Way to Sing” where they teach Chelsea chants, they reminis about the old days, and sometimes they get guests to interview.

surprised that there’s been no mention for the outstanding ’5 live’s world football phone-in’, surely the best football-related podcast out there, with the possible exception of the widely and justifiably praised guardian football weekly. shaun wheelock’s bi-weekly coverage of the US football scene should be of particular interest to fans over here.

Unclesand, great catch. I can’t believe I forgot to include it, but there are so many football podcasts to choose from that it’s hard to keep track sometimes. It now has been added to the list.

The list keeps growing and growing!

Gaffer.. you don’t have to ONLY use Itunes to get these..I use the Juice Podcast Receiver and Squeezbox to subscribe. Takes pressure of the Ipod can listen on demand. For thoese with Denon Receiver.. you can use radio.denon.com to Subscribe using the NetRadio feature. Again, I love Steve Jobs.. but other ways to get these with only going through Itunes. Copy and paste the podcast url.. and off you go!! -TF-

Hard to imagine they did not severely damage their listener numbers by charging. While the show may or may not be any good, with so many other QUALITY podcasts out there for free, it seems they are taking a big risk and potentially pissing off old loyal listeners. I would be interested to know how many subscribers they have and whether or not they will continue to charge.

Hey mate…why is the Glory Glory Leeds Show under “miscellaneous” and not in the “Specific Clubs” section? I know Leeds are only third dividion, but we are STILL a specific club, surely? Just a thought.
Thanks for listing the show, anyway….well pleased.

Twiggster, good to hear from you. Actually the listing near the top is for Premier League clubs only. I could have expanded the list to cover podcasts for all Football League clubs, but the list would have increased significantly in length.

The Gaffer
