voting graph Spurs Next In Line to Be Taken Over By American Investors

According to readers of EPL Talk, Tottenham Hotspur is most likely to be the next club to be purchased by American investors. In the poll, 25% of voters chose Spurs. The other Premier League teams most likely to be taken over by U.S. investors are:

2. Arsenal, 21%
3. Blackburn, 11%
4. Everton, 11%
5. Reading, 9%
6. Bolton, 7%
7. Birmingham, 7%
8. Wigan, 5%
9. Middlesbrough, 4%

In related news, New York Yankees boss Hank Steinbrenner has admitted that he had a chance to purchase one third of Spurs, but turned down the opportunity which he now regrets. However, Steinbrenner is still interested in investing in a Premier League club, so if he doesn’t make a move for Spurs again, it may be another club from those listed above.

In a similar poll conducted in April 2007, Spurs was again named most likely to be purchased by American investors.

SELL OK TO NOBODY ELSE ONLY BILL GATES THATS THE WAY I WOULD GO IF MR GATES WAS INTERESTED IN A TAKEOVER , HE DON`T HAVE TO BE INTERESTED IN ENGLISH FOOTBALL BUT THE VERY FACT THAT HE WOULD GIVE THE BIG RED ONE A MORE THAN EVEN RUN FOR HIS MONEY, FOOTBALL DOMATION BY CHELSEA WOULD BE LESS THAN A TRICKLE SO COME ON DOWN PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE MR GATES , I KNOW IF YOU GOT THAT ROCKY V RUSSIAN YOU WOULD BE SENSATIONAL .

Arsenal, be sold!?
You’re out of ur fricken mind!!
An American has already tried to buy us, and so has a Russian, we’re just too stubborn to be sold out.
We’re the only team in the top 4 that is still in British hands, and they call us the least English team… tisk tisk tisk.

Untill our septic cousins understand the game I think they should keep out of it, fact is, in football (not soccer) money doesn’t guarentee success, (see Chelsea) I’d keep a close eye on the goings on at Anfield to see what happens when the $$ come in.

I voted for Everton for two reasons…1) They would be significantly cheaper than Tottenham and have similar if not larger fanbase 2) They have a solid base which could only get better with the right investment.
