Survey: United & Spurs Fans Unfairly Victimized

April 14th, 2007 By The Gaffer --> Comments

This past week, many of you responded to a poll about whether Manchester United and Tottenham fans were unfairly victimized by the Italian and Spanish authorities in their matches away to Roma and Sevilla respectively. Your answers were a little surprising:

sshot-1 Survey: United & Spurs Fans Unfairly Victimized What’s surprising to me is that 59% of you thought that yes, the fans were unfairly victimized. To me, Man United fans must accept some of the blame as witnessed by the CCTV footage from the Olympic Stadium in Rome. That said, the segregation between the home and away fans at the stadium was pathetic, which definitely made the situation worse. And yes, the Roma fans attacked the see-through glass partition to provoke the United fans.

In the meantime, be sure to respond to this week’s new poll which begs the question whether you’re in favor of a European Super League or not (you can find the survey in the column to your left).
