New England Home Shirt: Mystery Unraveling

Is it or isn’t it? That’s the question regarding the recently leaked photographs of the alleged new England home shirt. Umbro says it’s fake, but I’m still not 100% convinced. And now, there’s a new piece of evidence that casts doubt on Umbro’s story.

Last week, Umbro unveiled its newest version of its logo — a red diamond (pictured). Perhaps it’s a coincidence, or maybe the designers of the fake shirt knew something we didn’t know. Or maybe the “fake shirt” is actually the real thing, or an earlier prototype.

Whatever the answer is, I still believe the “fake” England home shirt is real. The amount of detail and time put into the design is enormous. Why would a faker go to all of that trouble?

For those of you who haven’t seen the picture of the new England home shirt, here it is (with the red Umbro logo):

Not only that, but the excellent Football Shirts website has found another image of the new England home shirt (see below). The more evidence that comes out, the more likely that Umbro’s statement that the shirt is a fake is a red herring.

England’s home shirt won’t officially be unveiled until March 28 when they play Slovakia in a friendly at Wembley. New 09/10 Liverpool Away Shirt: New Picture Leaked

A new photograph has been leaked of Liverpool’s away shirt for the 2009/2010 season.

Manufactured by Adidas, the new Liverpool away jersey is black with gold trim. In the above photograph found on a Liverpool fan forum, the image shows a color pantone guide next to the shirt presumably to use for color correcting.

The photograph clearly shows the Carlsberg sponsor logo, gold trim and Liverpool club crest above the heart.

On January 20, EPL Talk featured a mockup of the Liverpool kit, created by the excellent Football Shirts website which looks very similar to the above image.

Liverpool Launches New Third Shirt For 2008/2009 Season

No, Steven Gerrard isn’t wearing a goalkeeper’s jersey in the picture. It’s Liverpool’s third strip for the 2008/2009 season, which was just officially unveiled by the club.

Designed by Adidas and sponsored by Carlsberg, the new third strip will be worn in select Champions League matches. The shirt features a black collar, white trim and aqua green shirt color.

Voted the second worst design of the 08/09 Premier League shirts, the new shirt will be available as of August 14th but is available for pre-order now.

Last season, Liverpool wore their attractive black shirt for European matches, but this new green design has to go down in the history books as one of the worst Liverpool shirts ever.

With the release of Liverpool’s third shirt, the club has now unveiled all three kits for the 2008/2009 season. These include the gray away shirt and red home shirt, which features the unique red checkered design inside the shirt that’s inspired by the flags of the Kop.

Every Boro Shirt Has A Silver Lining

Relief is on the way for Middlesbrough fans who often spill beer on their football shirts.Errea, the manufacturers of Boro’s new home and away football jerseys, have woven in flecks of titanium and silver into the new shirts making them waterproof and resistant to other liquids. No, I’m not making this up.

According to Boro fanzine Fly Me To The Moon, Boro’s new shirts are the first ones ever to incorporate this new nanotechnology.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

Middlesbrough Unveils New Away Shirt For 2008/2009 Season

Middlesbrough has unveiled their new away shirt for the 2008/2009 season with a design that’s manufactured by Errea and sponsored by Garmin.

The blue and black striped shirt is reminiscent of Inter Milan’s home shirt. But interestingly, according to the Middlesbrough web site, “the new shirt sees a return of the blue and black vertical stripes that were so popular with the club’s supporters in the early 1970s.”

The new away shirt will be available as of July 24.

New 08/09 Liverpool Third Shirt: New Picture

If you had to guess what color Liverpool’s new third shirt will be for the 2008/2009 season, you wouldn’t expect it to be green but as ridiculous as it sounds, it’s true. Last season Liverpool wore black for their European away shirt. This year, the Adidas shirt will be green with a white trim (pictured above). Thanks to Football Shirts for the photo.
