What were the highs and lows of his journeyman career? How was it to deal with the Millwall supporters? How did he end up in coaching? All that and more is discussed in this interview.

John Kerr, the first American ever to play in the top division in England, will be the guest in a future episode of the EPL Talk Podcast, the only Premier League interview show on the Internet.

Kerr is a trailblazer in the history of American soccer. He made his debut for Portsmouth in 1987, five years before the Premier League began and three years before John Harkes signed with Sheffield Wednesday. While in England, Kerr also played for Peterborough, Wycombe, Millwall and Walsall.

Kerr, son of NASL player John Kerr Sr., earned sixteen caps for the U.S. national team and also played at Dallas Burn and New England Revolution as well as several other clubs. He is now the head coach of the Duke University soccer team.

If you have any questions you’d like to ask John Kerr, please post them here and we’ll select the best questions to ask on-air to John.

As far as future episodes of the EPL Talk Podcast, we listened to your advice and will feature Gary Pallister on a future episode.

In the meantime, be sure to subscribe to the EPL Talk Podcast via iTunes so you don’t miss a single episode including the upcoming interviews with Martin Tyler and John Kerr.

If you also follow Major League Soccer, be sure to listen to Major League Soccer Talk’s first episode of the 2009 season which features Kartik Krishnaiyer having a discussion with DuNord Futbol’s Bruce McGuire about the U.S. National Team, MLS and USL.
