Good for you Morgan.

A lot of professional players in Europe and South America are sons and grandsons of professionals and the managers have decades upon decades of Learning and tactical know how for people before them but if America ever took to football it would take years but of course they would compete, but sadly I don't think they will ever take to it.

Me and my brother watched the Super bowl final years ago when they tried to sell it in the U.K (it didn’t take off) I said Redskins he said Cowboys can't remember who won and didn't have a clue what was going on! but it looks a bit like Rugby which is 2nd to football in England.

What is it with Americans and Wayne Rooney he is a good player but his style is all effort and aggression very much like Tevez I prefer players with a bit more class i.e. Torres, Robinho, Messi, Ronaldinho and even Ryan Giggs in the 90s he was amazing one of the best players I have ever seen live (he won player of the year this year when he was no where near but should have had it yrs gone bye so I can live with that) along with a guy Called Chris Waddle, Klingsman and even though he is a tosser Ronaldo all great entertainers.

Cmon! You don't know what bubbles and squeak are? Are you sure your a Brit? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bubble_and_squeak

Anyhow, I respect your opinions, but as a lifetime player (I'm 26) I don't simply gain an interest (and I'm no where near overweight like most of fat slobs in this country, thank you ver much). I follow football 24/7 online, on tv, etc. You have to understand the coverage for football in the U.S. sucks, so it is hard to find all the details. By the way American football is the number one sport, and quite an exciting one I might add. Football is still my favorite by far though.

Imagine if the athletes who play American football, basketball, hockey, etc. played only football. You would have some serious competition on your hands, but they don't. And hey, let's face it, just because you're a brit doesn't mean your Wayne Rooney quality on the pitch.

I will agree with you that American culture is shit, but not all of it and not all of us digest that mass cultural gluttony of garbage.

Well gareth the City Chairman will be happy with with 6th and the fans would be to, but the press wont they'll talk shit for months. Next year when they spend £100m-£200m then they will expect a lot more!

Toure and Ade both left because neither were particularly wanted by the manager and in Ade's case most of the fans (that’s a real fact neither ask for transfer or were put on the list) also Arsenal needed to raise money as they are heavily in debt because of a new stadium (you will note they will not spend to much this year).
Lets not forget that this is their JOB and they are human, if someone offers you a raise you go in 99.9% of the time. Practically none of the players were ever fans the club they are at so why would they be loyal? as fans we see things very differently.
By the way you may have noticed the trophies always go where the money is in the long run that’s just part of the modern game. So if you think that none are comming to city (in time) you must be mad.

Robino's problems were in England not Brazil, the women involved had made her story up. Look up the story yourself. Must have been a bit scary for Robinho being a not a good English speaker in a strange country.

Finally being American means that footbal is not your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th sport in your country its played by girls at school, and has little coverage basically its not taken seriously at all just like your top sports in the rest of the world. I believe basketball is your number 1 but I could not name 1 player except Michael Johnson (Only because of that film he was in!). In England, France, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Spain, Argentina and many more you eat sleep and drink football, not just decide to take an interest for a bit.
Oh by the way what the fuck is bubbles and squeak? and surely your to fat to play football maybe you should go on a diet and shoot someone, just chill do the things Americas like doing.

I feel that any team who ever it is and however rich their owners are they would expect a top 5 place at least when they have spent over £100 million

Toure only left because he wanted to leave. Wenger wouldn't sell him unless he wanted to go. That's a fact of the way it works in European football. Nobody honors a contract. They bitch and moan and in most cases get the exit they want. And of course Wenger is going to take 16million for him! Ronaldo is an egotistcal fuck, but there is just one thing about him that Toure is not. The best player in the world.

No choice for Ade to leave? What is with these players being treated like daddy's little girl? Oh the boo boys got to me. Wah Wah. Cry me a river. If he is that soft you can have him. He could have said I'm going to come back next year and put 20 in the back of the net and show the boo boys what I can do this year (and it's not like all Arsenal fans are boo boys). Excuses, excuses. Instead, he saw the long arm of the Arabs dumping way too much money into his pockets. Let's get to what these players are really after. You think they are coming to City to win championships? Secondary. If that were the case, City would have signed players like this years ago.

Really? A footballer being cleared of a night club related crime? Shocking! In Brazil nonetheless. He must have been accused of some pretty crude shit being their definition of a crime is a bit skewed.

Ok, so the English invented football. Being American does not mean we can't play the game. I've been playing my whole life, including college. I play with English muppets in NYC weekly that can't spell football. So give yourself a pat on the back, have some bubbles and squeak and a dental visit. Say hi to Mary Poppins for me.

I admit I am no City fan. I think the writer of this article knew exactly what reaction he would get when he started typing - City supporters tend to show up in force with their share of pitchforks and expletives when their club is even slighted. So a hit job like this had to be bait set for maximum reaction.

As for their buying this summer, I think they bought the best players available - very good players that have been shown to thrive in the premier league. The only two players of better quality that departed an EPL club this summer and DIDN'T head to City are Ronaldo and Alonso. City's failed bid for Kaka showed them that they first have to show theirs is worthy destination before they can go in for players of that quality again. To do that, they need proven premier league players in the 7/10+ range.

I think you can talk about what formation they'll use with all the players that can't possibly be left out. I think you can talk about whether Hughes has the gravitas to hold the respect of the massive egos in the locker room. And you can have your rant about how all this money, with no regard for the profitability of the club, is ruining football. But you can't seriously write an article about how every player they've brought in is rubbish.

You could hand-pick ten names from any combination of clubs, and I could write an opinion piece that very selectively focused on just their negatives. "Drogba is an old has-been who undermines the manager and wears his ipod on the bench when he's left out." Maybe, but he's looked rejuvenated in the preseason, clearly respects his new manager, is thriving in his modified role, and is about to have a cracking season. Which bit would you have written if he had transferred to City this summer?
