A bit of a contradiction to post this article, then to post one saying that City could be a threat, don’t you think?

David, it’s different strokes for different folks. Many of the writers have differing opinions on the site, so it’s not surprising that there’s a bit of contradiction now and again. No worries.

Great post….I’ll go a different direction on the scoreline however I’m a life long Chelsea fan, and feel more goals coming from this one. 3-2 Chelsea in a thriller.

    GO BLUES!

Definitely the biggest game of this season (so far).

I’ll have to disagree with one thing – I think this will be a high-scoring affair. Both teams are great attackers (with Liverpool probably edging it a bit) and both teams are not doing so hot defensibly (with Chelsea being a little bit better). I’d go for at least four goals.

Another cool thing about this game: being able to compare Johnson and Cole as far as the more effective defensive-winger.

The Guardian shines some light on why there have been so many goals and so few draws this season at http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2009/sep/28/the-question-premier-league-draws

I would like to think that Sunday’s Chelsea against Liverpool match will be a delightful affair with a dozen goals between them, but I’ve been burned far too many times before. Too many draws. Too much negativity over the years. My prediction? 0-0.

    Cheers,

Right on, brother. Pool vs. Chelsea is usually a snoozer.

I say Chelsea will be missing Cech in goal and that’s gonna hurt. Last season we had Alonso, and I’m sure he was a big reason we bet Chelsea twice…but maybe Sunday is the day Lucas puts on his big boy boots.

    Wishful thinking :(

    I say 2-1 Liverpool.

On second thought, the last few meetings between us have yielded pretty high goals. The 2nd leg of the Champions League and both EPL meetups last season…could very well end up 4-3 or something crazy like that.

      YNWA etc

I think Arsene Wenger would both like to admit and concede that Arsenal v Man Utd, was the first title fight

Pretty shocking “title fight” premise for the article – when has Liverpool last looked like a title contender post-March? A loss at Stamford Bridge would be their third in the first eight games – and would put a serious dent in their hopes for this year…

Liverpool still looked like a title contender last March.
