If you’re addicted to your iPhone as much as I am, you’ve probably been disappointed that some crucial iPhone soccer apps don’t exist in the App store. Here are the top 4 that are missing:

  1. Official Fantasy Premier League iPhone App. Out of all of the apps that are missing, this is the one I would use the most if it was available. Plus, this is the one that is most logical to be accessed by a mobile device. The app would be perfect to allow you to log in to your account and change your fantasy team around as well as to see how many points you scored each week.
  2. Fantasy Football Scout iPhone App. Fantasy Football Scout is one of our favorite sites to help with your fantasy picks each week. But if an app could be created for that site that lists the latest injury news as well as predicted line-ups, that would definitely be incredibly useful for football fans who are away from their desktops or laptops.
  3. Soccer TV Guide iPhone App. There needs to be one comprehensive guide that only features the soccer games in your country — or even better in your local coverage area. This one would surely be used by soccer fans all the time especially to find out the last-minute changes to the TV schedule.
  4. Fox Soccer Channel iPhone App. A FSC branded iPhone app would be a great way for Fox Soccer Channel to promote their network, their TV schedule and their latest news stories from FoxSoccer.com.

Are there are any iPhone apps you’d love to see that aren’t listed above that should be added to the App Store? Click the comments link below and share your opinion. Don’t quote me on this, but I believe it’s interesting that only Arsenal have put out an official app. It would be nice for other top clubs to look into an official application as well that could include player interviews, video clips such as goal highlights, etc., etc. (The sky’s the limit)

Also,

With 2010 now only a few weeks away, I’m sure we’ll start seeing World Cup apps popping up all over the app store. It would be nice for FIFA to create an official application for fans of the WC to follow all the news & analysis with the touch of a finger.

Yep I’ve heard several good things about the Arsenal iPhone app too. Even though I’m not an Arsenal fan, I’ll have to take a look at it.

Cheers,

Like you gaffer I think the iPhone is the best
thing since sliced bread (and marmite..).One
App that would be handy would be a football stats database
with player profiles and records etc.Handy for
doing a quick stat check whilst watching a game
on tv or live at the ground.A “Live” league table
app would be fun too for a Saturday/Sunday morning!
Final idea would be football triva / quiz app which
would be ideal for use in the pub to stir lively debate
amongst fellow football friends.

Btw – is it possible to download podcasts from the
EPL app or can they just be streamed from there?

Excellent site-one of my favorite football destinations
on the web!

FSC doesn’t have an iPhone app yet probably because they have a relationship with Verizon Wireless; look at all the Verizon Wireless advertising on FSC during commercial breaks or during Fox Football Fone-in. My guess is that either FSC is contractually prohibited in some way from making an iPhone app (and thus indirectly promoting AT&T Wireless) or they just don’t want to piss Verizon Wireless off. It’s a similar problem with other pro leagues that don’t have official iPhone apps, like NFL, NHL, and NASCAR; they all got into bed with Sprint or Verizon.

It is a shame that Football/Championship Manager isn’t in the US. I downloaded Soccer Manager but I am struggling to enjoy with all the names slightly changed.
