Umbro Hard At Work On New Hull City Third Shirt

newcastle hull kit clash Umbro Hard At Work On New Hull City Third ShirtThe 2008/2009 Premier League season will go down as one of the most bizarre in terms of football kits. There’s West Bromwich Albion who are without a shirt sponsor for the entire season. Then there was West Ham United and the covering up of sponsor name XL Travel with player’s squad numbers. And the day when Hull City borrowed Newcastle’s shorts and socks to avoid their flint-colored away hits clashing with the black and white of the Tyneside team.

And now Hull City faces a huge problem ahead of their FA Cup third round replay against Newcastle.

“We have got a massive problem – we don’t have a third-choice strip,” admitted manager Phil Brown. “We can’t wear our home kit and we can’t wear our away. Hopefully Umbro can come up with something.”

Both Hull’s home kit of amber and black, and their flint-colored away kit clash with Newcastle’s black and white stripes. You can bet that their third kit, which may only be worn once, will be a football collector’s item.

Why not make the third shirt orange? Kinda fits in with their colour scheme!

Why don't they make it brown and gold?

Looks like Hull went for all-white in the end…
