Which Premier League Teams Will Get Relegated?

well be back Which Premier League Teams Will Get Relegated?

With almost 20% of the season completed, we already have a good idea of which clubs will shine and underwhelm this 2008/2009 Premier League season, as well as which ones are destined for mid-table mediocrity.

Sure, we still have 80% of the season remaining, but out of the clubs you’ve seen thus far, which ones do you believe will end up being relegated?

Here are my three picks:

  • 18. Tottenham Hotspur — Unless something massive happens, which would be the sacking of Juande Ramos, Spurs are destined for a terrible season with a team of dispirited players with no leader and no strike partnership,
  • 19. Fulham — The Craven Cottage side is looking worse this year than they did last season, and that’s saying something. I fail to see who will rescue them this season on the pitch.
  • 20. Stoke City — Stoke won’t go down easy. They still have plenty of fight in them although ultimately they’ll get relegated because of a lack of a proven goalscorer. Dave Kitson is not going to do it for them.

You have no idea, Fulham look worse this year? Oh yes, because we looked terrible when we went and beat Arsenal and then followed it up with a domination of Bolton. Despite having signed Andy Johnson, England international striker as well as other classy players we loook worse? The USA's captain was shipped off for being average and your best player, Clint Dempsey is on the bench this year. Sure we played some average football but to say we look worse shows you have no idea.

Tottenham going down? You are a joke, they do have some real quality and although they're going shocking there is no way they'll go down with the players they have.

I don't think any of those clubs will go down, well maybe Stoke.

I don't even think it will b decided on the pitch. The banking crisis will decide who stays up this season. So many clubs are so deep in debt, that if any of it gets called they could be docked 15 points. This isn't just West Ham and its owners bank being nationalized and that Blade thing… Its clubs like Liverpool, Man U. Arsenal etc.

The English game is as close to the brink as its ever been, and the lower divisions will be hit hardest. But its a house of cards at the moment, and its not going to be over anytime soon. Expect even more off shore investment and ownership, and most clubs staying out of the transfer market.

and Newcastle have the best shot of any going down.

Way way too early to even talk about this. Newcastle look poor, as does Middlesborough. Ask us again in February.

Hmm, I agree with Stoke , Delaps arm cant save them.
I wish you are right on Tottenham (who I think you predicted as top 4 a few weeks ago).. but they are good to down and once January appears and they throw the wallet at Lassana Diarra I am sure they will get themselves together).
Fulham… fair guess really, they are underperforming considering I thought they bought so well but I am worried for them.

My three: Stoke / Bolton / West Brom.

On your premier league cup post you've got Wigan, West Brom and Stoke missing. Did you change your mind that quick?

Burt, nah. With the Premier League Cup prediction, I guesses which clubs would have got knocked out of the earlier rounds of the tournament by Championship League clubs.

Cheers,

middlesborogh are going down with westbrom, both teams this year have just not been playing like premier league teams should. Newcastle and Hull, its going to be a great finish all the way to the last game, shame i can’t say the same about the top half, Utd have wrapped it up but you have got to say Liverpool have played far better then Utd but silly draws have lost us the league………again!
