    It’s not so hard to understand. Strikers need a run of games in a team. They need to know that they are starting a run of games. They need to get used to the feeders from midfield and where the through balls are likely to be coming from. Midfielders need to get used to strikers runs. At international level David Healy’s teamates know these things and he knows them. At club level he has never had a consistent number of starts.

    well, he did have a great run for NI, but 2 goals in his last 15 internationals ( one of the 2 was originally listed as an own goal. He is the sort that bunches his goals…

    or maybe its the space in internationals he gets. ohh I don’t know maybe he just loves his country and over performs…

    The issue could be that Healy requires the team to be built around him which would be possible at NI where the footballing talent (lets face it) is less than an EPL side.

    He is as good as any striker and can score goals in any league.. what he needs is a manager that believes in his ability(with respect to Steve Bruce).
