What we (Arsenal) lack more than anything right now is leadership. Henry is the consummate competitor who inspires and leads by example. When he’s in the mood he can can completely alter the face of the game. And he likes of Vieira, Bergkamp, Pires left a huge void; what the team need is big game experience. Without Gallas in the back four or Henry up front Toure is the elder statesman, at what, 25?

I dispute your analysis of his effect on the team’s play. Rather than stifiling Adebayor or Van Persie, I think he opens up the pitch for them. Do you honestly mean to tell me that either of them is a valid replacement for Henry?

Van Persie is immature, inconsistent and better served as a winger, though he has an occasional moment of brilliance.

Adebayor is a fine technical player with great buildup, UNTIL he gets to the box. Despite his foreplay acumen, when he is about to score he prematurely soils himself like a 13 year old with his first porno.
